Jordan Morillo, OTR/L, Certified Babywearing Consultant

Jordan Morillo is a maternal health occupational therapist and certified babywearing consultant providing perinatal support to families through her community-based private practice. In addition to babywearing, she specializes in sensory wellness and empowering families to beat feelings of parental burnout and overwhelm through a deeper understanding of their sensory needs. 

Jordan was named the Outstanding Graduate of the Department of Psychological Sciences and Counseling at Austin Peay State University, before moving to Texas to pursue her occupational therapy degree at Texas Women’s University. While pursuing her masters degree, Jordan worked closely with families as a research assistant for the Agape Clinic in Dallas, TX, and spent weekends working as a feeding technician in an inpatient children’s rehabilitation program. She has since pursued a rich and diverse OT background ranging from inpatient behavioral health to working as a Rehab Director in skilled nursing. 

Jordan was called to open her private practice in 2023 after the birth of her own son and his subsequent NICU stay. She completed certification as a babywearing consultant through the Center for Babywearing Studies, and is passionate about making babywearing safe, accessible, and enjoyable for all families. In less than a year of owning her own company, she has improved the lives of over 150 families through 1:1 consultations and group classes, and provided free education to thousands more via online platforms.

This course does not promote a specific baby carrier for families but uses the therapeutic framework to focus on the needs of the family while taking into consider the potential impact on the breastfeeding relationship.

 

Are there prerequisites for this course?

There are no required prerequisites. 

 

Can I count this course towards the renewal of my lactation credential?

This course is approved for 4.5 R-CERPs. To receive credit for completion, the course must be completed with 100% watch time and each participant will need to complete a post-assessment with a passing score of at least 80% to ensure all learning objectives are met.

 

Information about AOTA CEUs

This course is approved for 0.45 AOTA CEUs for occupational therapy practitioners. Participants will be required to:

  • Complete the course in its entirety (100% of the course watched)
  • Complete a multiple-choice post-assessment with a passing score of at least 80% (untimed, multiple choice test)

 

Information about ASHA CEUs

This course will not have CEUs directly submitted to ASHA. You will receive a certificate of completion and can use the CEUs towards the 30 PDHs required for each 3-year certification.

 

How long will I have access to the course?

6 months from the purchase date. 

 

What is your refund/cancellation policy?

Refunds must be requested within 14 days of purchase by emailing [email protected]. A full refund is available if no modules have been started. A partial refund is available once ANY portion of the course has been viewed. The amount refunded is at the sole discretion of The Lactation OT LLC. There is no refund available after 14 days of purchase OR if module one has been completed. Recipients will receive acknowledgment of refund requests within 3 business days. If the request is valid per the terms listed above, the refund will be processed within 7 business days. If for any reason the course is canceled by The Lactation OT before the course is started, a full refund will be provided.
